Design Thinking is a systematic approach to problem-solving that allows you to uncover the unarticulated needs of your customers and to come up with new and exciting ideas that speak to them by targeting those exact needs. While some of the classic marketing practices have been proven to work in the past, they don’t exactly meet those needs in today’s fast moving pace where businesses need to grow and innovate.

Design Thinking encourages marketers to go out and try to understand the challenges of the audience by using qualitative research methods, encouraging experimentation of ideas, cross-functional teams and departments and, most importantly, through iteration. We need to shift from a 7 P’s marketing mix towards a 7 E’s mindset if we want to continue to be relevant in today’s market and deliver value through our products.
