The speakers, Anthony Christov, Art Director of Wall-E and Finding Nemo, co-founder of ARC Academy (Sofia) and IDEA Academy (Rome), and Kaloyan Kalamov, junior Character artist in AMC Ro Studio will answer these and any other questions you may have!
Anthony Christov has 30 years of experience working on films in Hollywood, the last 18 of which he spent art directing for Pixar. His teaching experience consists of 12 years of teaching at AAU (Academy of Art University) in San Francisco and 8 years at the CCA (California College of Arts) while working at Pixar. In 2017 he co-founded IDEA Academy in Rome and in 2019 ARC Academy in Sofia. He’ll talk about what it’s like to work in animation, what is special about the game industry, and what drives him to help young people develop their talent and turn it into a career.
Kaloyan Kalamov is a junior 3D Character artist from Ruse (BG) who joined AMC this year. He’ll share some of his practical tips on how to start a career in 3D art, from acknowledging what you’re good at, accessing suited learning resources, tailoring a portfolio, developing a network, finding the right team, and when found, how to further consolidate your role in the team.
